I was on a wide field in a dream. There were several individuals standing in that area, and the coordinator was in the front providing instructions. We were each supposed to present a dance, according to the coordinator’s instructions. He stated that the dance performance will last the entire duration of the song we were assigned.
I was taken aback because I hadn’t anticipated the full length. I told the coordinator that I lacked the steps for the entire length, and he told me to go practise. I asked myself what I would practise if I didn’t have the steps. I followed the directive, nevertheless, and started practising. I began to dance, and soon I had all the moves for the entire song. The steps came one at a time. While dancing, I thought to myself, “This is easier than I feared.”
When I awoke, I pondered what the meaning of that dream was. I realised that our life is like a dance to a song (our purpose) with a defined length (days on earth). A dance is a sequence of steps and movements. In life we take steps and make moves based on the situations that are presented to us and our unique purposes. We do not know all the steps we will take from the start of life’s journey, but we can trust God to accompany us and reveal the steps as we move in perfect harmony (obedience) with the rhythm and steps He has supplied.

The remaining steps begin to come into play after we start acting on the initial step that was disclosed. Abraham, the Father of Faith, didn’t know where He was heading, as did most of the outstanding people God used in the Bible. God instructed him to depart from the land of his father and travel to a land that He would show him and give to him. He was unaware of the country or what he would encounter there, but he took the first step by packing his bags to leave his nation, and the rest played out.
“I hear the Lord saying, “I will stay close to you, instructing and guiding you along the pathway for your life. I will advise you along the way and lead you forth with my eyes as your guide. So don’t make it difficult; don’t be stubborn when I take you where you’ve not been before. Don’t make me tug you and pull you along. Just come with me!””
Psalms 32:8-9 TPT
Abraham is a biblical figure about whom I have thoughts, which I shall discuss in a later post. I’ll tell you to start doing what God has commanded, and the rest will fall into place. Because of the impossibility that our present circumstances seem to make of God’s tremendous plans, we are left asking, like Mary, “How will this be?”. This will be accomplished by taking the initial step. This first step could be acquiring knowledge, praying, developing skills, or stepping outside of one’s comfort zone, but making sure to Obey the first step that God has instructed. All it takes is that initial step of “OBEDIENCE”. Instant obedience is very important because as you delay, you begin to rationalize it. The more you rationalize it the more impossible it might seem. Be like Mary and say, “be it unto me according to Your word”.
Additionally, the practise could relate to a skill or a spiritual gift that you were given by God and that you need to develop for it to grow. I can still recall how terrified I used to be to speak what God had placed on my heart when I first began using my prophetic gift, but I would push myself and eventually discover that I was right. I’m still working on it, but I’ve come a long way since I first started. The gift would not have developed if I hadn’t acted in faith to communicate what the Lord placed on my heart for a certain person and trusted my hearing Him.
In the dream, I wouldn’t have learned my entire dance routine if I hadn’t obeyed the instruction to practise. Follow God step by step without waiting to know the complete steps. He will reveal the steps one at a time so you may complete the journey together because He desires to travel this path with you just as He did with the likes of Abraham. Abraham was believed to have lived a happy life; in other words, we can say he finished the full length of his song.
A step of faith was taken by obeying the directive to begin practising. Take that leap of Faith today with your career, business, idea, or spiritual gift. Faith is taking that step in spite of your Fears. Courage isn’t the absence of Fear but it is what you do with that Fear.
DO NOT WAIT TILL TOMORROW, NOW IS THE BEST TIME!
Thank you for reading till the end. Please like this post and feel free to share your story in the comments about the moment you followed God’s initial instruction and how the rest turned out. Also please share any message you get about the dream.
Shalom Light Bearers!!!
